List Of Soundboard Software For Playing Music Through Mic In 2019

You might be wondering, what’s the point of having a soundboard when you can use any media player instead, such as Winamp, Foobar2000 or the plain old Windows Media Player for example.

Soundboards give you more control over what and how plays when by using hotkeys on your keyboard.

Below is the list of soundboard software, compiled in 2018.
I’ve updated it in 2019
(for Windows)

IMPORTANT: the best one is the one that works for You.

1. FREE Soundboard Software

Listed here are totally free soundboards I’ve found, some of which I’m using myself for playing audio through mic in games and voice applications in general. They’re simple programs, so they should work even with the latest Windows versions, perhaps with minor hiccups if they’re really old.

1.1. Deathcounter And Soundboard (2018)

Newest soundboard I’ve found. It’s being actively developed. It’s simple and it works. It comes with a secondary feature called Deathcounter which you can hide within the interface.

For more info, visit streamersquare.com (link opens in a new tab)

How to download? Once you’re on streamersquare, click on the link where it says “Download – [link]”, then click on the newest version of DCSB (4.0.0.8 as of May 3, 2018), then on one of the assets below called .exe (this will be the setup compressed into a zip file).

 New* (last updated in 2018)
Mordern and simple (userfriendly)
Has 2 outputs (more verstile)
Can add audio files
Can assign hotkeys
Can adjust volume within the interface

1.2. EXP Soundboard (2016)

Nothing quite wrong with this one either. Though when you were to run into technical issues, nobody is there to fix it. Support was dropped for it and latest update is from 2016. But when it works, it’s simple and modern enough I can’t see why not to use it.

For more info, visit sourceforge.net (link opens in a new tab) – green download button, you can’t miss it.

Has 2 outputs (more verstile)
Can assign hotkeys
Can add audio files

Interface is simple enough (tiny bit oldish)

Ø Old (last updated in 2016 – may have compatibility issues)
Ø Cannot adjust volume within the interface

1.3. Resanance (2016)

Again, not too much to whine about. It’s relatively simple, maybe too simple – lacks options to play around with. Most of the basic functions are there though, so if it works, I don’t see why not to use it.

For more info, visit resanance.com (link opens in a new tab) – orange download button, you can’t miss it.

Has multiple outputs (more verstile)
Can assign hotkeys
Can add audio files

Interface is simple enough (tiny bit oldish)

Ø Old (last updated in 2016 – may have compatibility issues)
Ø Cannot adjust volume within the interface (option is there but doesn’t seem to be working)

1.4. Jingle Palette (2014)

If you’ve been using soundboards with similar interface in the past, you’ll likely find no problems using it. It was last updated in 2014, latest update claims to run on even the latest versions of Windows.

For more info, visit www.jinglepalette.com (link opens in a new tab) – download button on the left side on that page (download button on the page itself doesn’t seem to be updated, but it should support up to latest windows versions).

Can assign hotkeys
Can add audio files

Ø Only has 1 output (less verstile)
Ø Old looking interface (unintuitive for new peeps)
Ø Old (last updated in 2014 – may have compatibility issues)
Ø Cannot adjust volume within the interface (option is there but is unintuitive to use)

Extra free soundboards I found seemed even older, so I just left them out entirely…

2. COMMERCIAL Soundboard Software

There are lots of freemium and premium and whatnot soundboard softwares out there. I haven’t had the need to use any of them, and I don’t see the reason for you to have them either, unless you’re up to something more ambitious.

What you see listed below are actually multi-purpose applications with built-in soundboard.

2.1. MorphVox Pro (2018)

2.2. Soundpad (2018)
